Dear Sandie fans,
Sandie has taken a rest from writing her blog for a while. I have spoken to her recently and she sounds really well. She recently celebrated her 60th birthday and it sounds like she had a fabulous time.
I hope that she'll write for us again very soon.

More About Sandie
I started my working life behind the closed doors of finance in a building society. Then I realised there was a huge world out there and moved into retail management, working with several famous UK chains.
Then for a couple of years I ran a helpline for people hooked on tranquilisers - after being there myself.
I was diagnosed with primary progressive MS in 2001.
A brain tumour that was found in the back of my head in 1998 (all gone and OK now) probably contributed to my symptoms, and my medical history suggests that the MS came in fleeting glimpses since the early 80s.
I believe that a wacky sense of humour and a rock of a husband has kept me sane. My faith in God is solid. When I needed His comfort when facing an operation with no certainty of the outcome, He was always at my shoulder.
I love poetry, books, music, animals and the countryside. Hillwalking and trekking were my escape until MS decided to visit me!
Now I write, use my computer, enjoy retail therapy, drink mochas 'for comfort' and try to keep as mobile as I can.
I've decided that MS will widen my horizons, not close the door on them.
